fading

he's fading now
though gone for months
his memory now
fills my thoughts
trying to sharpen
the blurred edges
of the snapshots
in my mind
his hands
that grasped mine
in times of pain
and happiness
the tears he hid
from all but me
the love so potent
almost suffocating
the words so bold,
brimming with sincerity
cannot let him be
forgotten
will not let him
fade.
